Recruiting new Board members
Draft document! If you are reading this then this is a draft document and will be updated before being made public.
We are seeking new volunteers to join the Board of Directors of Social Circus International.
Social Circus International is a small not-for-profit company (limited by guarantee registered in the UK) which gathers funds for Social Circus projects; it distributes these funds to suitable projects and gets reports and accounts to check on delivery and process.
We are not fund-raisers ourselves, we leave that to individual projects and companies.
SCI has not previously run fundraising campaigns or crowdfunding directly but may apply to funding pots on behalf of a project in the future.
The existing Board had planned to develop the Board and its capacity since 2019 but the Pandemic and its repercussions have slowed this process. We are now ready to move forwards.
We are seeking to appoint new Board members to take SCI forward to grow and develop its ability to do social good through supporting Circus and Arts and Play projects.
Director’s roles are unpaid.
SCI has no direct income currently so we have no budget for expenses. (We would like to change this, hence recuiting new Board members to develop funding opportunities)
The Board needs to meet once a year for an AGM. We also foresee board meetings to consider projects as they come in and estimate that the Board would meet about once every two months. These meeting can take place on-line.
Positions are for a period of 3 years (term may be renewed).
About the current Board.
All current members have experience of delivering social circus projects and working in community settings in the UK or abroad. Current Board Members have to work running their own businesses and projects, so we generally find that time to develop SCI is a challenge.
See Board of Directors for more information on Board Members.
